My name is Scott Dowling, I live in Michigan USA and I own Sweet Dreams Hollands (formerly known as Sweet Dreams Rabbitry). Here at Sweet Dreams we specialize in Tri's, (black, blue, chocolate, and lilac), Chocolate Chestnut and Lynx. I do have other colors as well. We all know that with rabbits you don't always know what is going to "pop" up in the nest box.
I started breeding rabbits when I was 13. I raised Netherland Dwarfs, but I didn't start showing until I was 14. I bred rabbits for 13 years but sadly due to personal issues I had to give my rabbits up in 1996, I was 26 at the time. While I was breeding Netherland Dwarfs, I did have other breeds but mainly showed and bred Netherlands. I had two English Angoras but never bred or showed them. I also had 1 holland lop, 1 mini lop, and I did venture into Jersey Woolies for a short time.
I could never let my rabbits go, then in 2007 I had this dream of my rabbits and decide to go back into them, from there Sweet Dreams was created. The breed I chose to work with this time around was the Holland Lop, as I have always loved the breed. My favorite color rabbit was the true lynx (Lilac agouti), then I fell in love with the tris and had to work with tris also.
We concentrate on Quality over Quantity. I run a small rabbitry of 42 holes and plan on keeping it small. I have a lot of knowledge in rabbit color genetics. I went to far and wide to get the holland's I work with in my breeding programs to capture the type, along with Color but type always comes first in my breeding programs so I have to cull strictly! We work with our babies to make nice show rabbits and loving pets. However, since I have a small herd, a lot of nice show bunnies will be offered for sale.
